GrainsConnect is showing tremendous progress on its third national inland terminal set to open Spring 2019 in Vegreville, Alberta. To mark the impressive developments in construction and greet growers in the area, GrainsConnect will be hosting a growers event on Wednesday, November 28th.
Beginning at 9am, growers from Vegreville and the surrounding area will be invited to meet GrainsConnect and their team of skilled Grain Merchants at the Vegreville Social Centre, 4802 47a Street for morning coffee and updates on GrainsConnect’s state-of-the-art grain terminals. From there, tours of the terminal will be available, providing growers the opportunity to learn about GrainsConnect’s third inland terminal in Western Canada. In addition to area growers, local media are also invited to attend this informative event.
As of June 1st 2018 GrainsConnect has been receiving grain from growers to their Reford, Saskatchewan terminal. Operations in Maymont have been successfully underway since November 2017, and GrainsConnect looks forward to opening a fourth terminal in Huxley, Alberta in Fall of 2019. Each project features a state-of-the-art 35,000 tonne grain terminal and dedicated 134 rail cars.
“Our operations in Saskatchewan have been extremely successful,” says Warren Stow, President of GrainsConnect Canada. “Expanding our operations into Alberta has been part of our strategic plan all along, as we know the locations we’ve selected will service growers who currently travel further to deliver their grain.”
Hosting grower and family events in the places where GrainsConnect operates is one of many ways the company fosters community. By offering tours of their game-changing terminals, and inviting area growers to personally meet the team they employ, GrainsConnect commits to not only doing business in these communities but becoming part of them. “We support the communities where we operate,” explains Stow. “We know that family farms are the backbone to our industry, which is why we run our business with integrity and trust at our core.”
